Indiantown High School (IHS) is a public charter high school in Martin County, Florida, focusing on college preparedness and career and workforce education.

Operated by Indian River State College (IRSC) in partnership with the Martin County School District, IHS integrates traditional high school curriculum with workforce and college courses, producing graduates that can directly pursue career opportunities or higher education upon graduation. With smaller class sizes, college-style block scheduling, and our Pathfinder Advisory, we are uniquely equipped to meet the needs of all learners!

Marketing and Entrepreneurship Academy

  • Students will learn the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for careers in the exciting world of Marketing as well as the pioneering spirit of a modern entrepreneur! Students may have the opportunity to earn industry certifications in Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Business Communications and Social Media Strategist

Digital Media/Multimedia Academy

  • Students will learn the knowledge and skills to prepare for a career in the digital arts and communications field. Students may earn industry certifications in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft and Photoshop.

Engineering and Technology Academy

  • Students will have the opportunity to learn and have hands on practice in welding, learn about alternative energy and robotics

Environmental Technology Academy

  • Students will learn landscape design, irrigation, turf grass care and maintenance and be prepared for an exciting career in agriculture, landscape, or golf course management.

Indiantown High School opened its doors on August 10, 2022, for incoming Grade 9 students, offering programs that meet Florida's public high school graduation requirements, career and technical certifications, and college-level Dual Enrollment opportunities. On August 9, 2023, the state-of-the-art 60,000 square-foot building opened for Grade 9, 10 and 11 students at 19000 Southwest Citrus Boulevard. Beginning Fall 2024, Indiantown High School will host students in grades 9-12.

Students have a rigorous and robust selection of academic and career technical education (CTE) courses to choose from! Our CTE Academies include Medical Technology, Building/Trades Technology, Mechanical/Technical Technology (which includes welding and automotive/marine), Agriculture Sciences Technology, and Media/Computers/Marketing! Our students earn dual enrollment college credits and industry certifications in their freshman year!

As a “choice” school in Martin County, your child MUST be registered with us to attend! Simply fill out the registration form on this  site, or call the school directly for more information! We look forward to partnering with you for your child’s academic and career success!

If any students do not receive a spot through the random selection/lottery process, they will be assigned a number in order for the waitlist.  If space becomes available, students will be notified accordingly.

Florida Statute 1002.33(10)(b) ELIGIBLE STUDENTS: The charter school shall enroll an eligible student who submits a timely application, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or building. In such case, all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process.


Admissions Requirements

Students must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible for admission to Indiantown High School (IHS).

  1. Completion of grade 8, 9, 10 or 11 during the 2023–2024 school year.
  2. Complete the IHS Application for Admission and provide a 300-word (minimum) essay on “Why I want to attend Indiantown High School.” This can be written in English or the student’s native language.
  3. For students who attend a non-MCSD (Martin County School District) school, parents must request the records (transcripts and/or report cards) be sent to IHS. The application will only be considered once all records are received and reviewed.

About Indiantown High School

Governing Board and Management Board.  IRSC shall govern Indiantown High School.  Specifically, IRSC District Board of Trustees shall serve as the governing board of the Charter School.  In addition, IRSC shall maintain a Charter School Management Advisory Board to serve in accordance with the purpose set forth below.

Purpose.  The purpose of the Management Advisory Board is to provide guidance and support to the Charter School.  The Management Advisory Board shall serve as a policy and operational advisory body composed of representatives of the School Board, IRSC, and representatives from the business community.  The Management Advisory Board shall provide valuable business perspectives on the mission, programs and purpose of the Charter School, as well as recommend actions to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Charter School. 

Composition.  There shall be nine (9) members of the Management Board as follows:     

  • The President of IRSC or designee.
  • The Superintendent of the MCSD School Board or designee.
  • Two employees of the administrative staff of IRSC appointed by the President of IRSC.
  • Two employees of the administrative staff of the School Board appointed by the Superintendent of the MCSD School Board.
  • One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the Board of Trustees of IRSC.
  • One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the MCSD School Board.
  • One member of the Martin County business community appointed by the other eight members.

Workforce Focused for Grades 9-12
  • Public, charter high school = FREE! No tuition of academic costs to you.
  • Opening August 10, 2022 for students entering 9th
  • Maximum 75 students. Important to get your seat saved now as we are limited to only 75 students next year for grade 9.
  • 100 students will be added each year until max capacity of 400.
  • 22-23 school year held at the Boys and Girls Club- Indiantown Branch. The Boys and Girls Club has several spaces for classrooms and offices, as well as a cafeteria, gym, and common space for group work.
  • Classes scheduled 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
  • Student schedules include both semester long classes, as well as year-long. Semester classes meet 5 days per week for 85 minutes each day (Aug- Dec or Jan-May). Yearlong classes meet 3 days per week for 85 minutes each (Aug- May). 
  • Classes are 85 minutes each (maximum 4 subjects per day). 5 minutes between classes for restroom and change rooms.
  • Local transportation to be available in Indiantown.
